Respect the Commander and Chief : Promises Kept By Obama

Don't believe the everything you hear. I am sure there is a lot we would like to see happen as far as progress is concerned, but there is a lot being done as well. So many may claim that America is lost and is being misled, but as I was just viewing websites like Politifact.com and seen just how hard our president is working. As our nation moves forward to a brighter future we need to be more aware. This website showed the promised kept vs. broken and those in progress. I say its worth looking at.

The State of Our Nation: Everyone vs. Everyone.

I strongly dislike contributing to such a complex debate, but it has become unavoidable. There is a growing virus in the United States of America that needs to be stopped. It breads hate and threatens to break our nation apart. I am sure that I am not the only one to notice the growing animosity directed toward the President of the United States and the Democrats in congress. The behavior has been unhealthy and immature at best. The entire atmosphere is void of true patriotic feelings that is set on forging a bright future for the United States.

Take any debate and you will see how one side says that the actions taken by the other is part of an agenda to deprive us of freedom. The truth is that this is a nation that is filled with people who want to help, but don’t know how to work together. The frustrating part is that there is a strong possibility that some of us don’t want to work together. Deep hatred and prejudices of all sorts lurk underneath our exterior like lava in a volcano. The tragic part is that it may destroy us before we fix it.

Take some people's view of President Obama just weeks after he became president. It hasn’t been a year into his presidency and they are already calling him the devil. I mean people are still trying to find out if he is still a US citizen. This shows how some people are really out of touch. This lack of respect really under minds our ability to stand together as a nation and get out of this mess. Some say it's liberals others say it's conservatives and I say it’s everyone. As a nation we are immature in a lot of ways. We over spend money and over use resources. We over complain and are impatient. We over talk and never understand what is really at stake. Our Nation is at stake if we don’t stop.

Groups are starting up with names like Real America, Patriots, Tea Party, ect (excuse me if the names are off). Some of these groups are stirring up hate in a whole new way. I heard a speaker refer to the Administration as King George and the Parliament that was in power during the American Revolution. The conservative speaker also mentioned where the founding documents gives us the right to overthrow the government if necessary. When we begin using such provocative language not even a year after an election it shows that there is something wrong here and need to be examined. I mean give Obama a chance already. Help the President and Congress as your patriotic duty demands and get our country back on track. Enough with pointing out problems and what the other is doing wrong start with the solutions.

Many people may argue that this is ideal rhetoric, but it’s not. Many actions in congress have been halted because the inability to work together and solve problems. With election season around the corner, we will see this get even worse. I can’t see how Obama has become a bad word amongst a certain sector of America. People make it sound like he’s the “Illegal Alien Devil Buggy Man” when in reality he is the President of the United States of America that is not even half way through his presidency. We have two wars, a somewhat broken and confused economy, a natural disaster in the gulf, and war zone in Chicago. We need to ask those in power to work together at all cost as we do the same as citizens. This is not a request it’s a responsibility to everyone who has every stood during the National Anthem or recited the Pledge of Allegiance. "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. This is more than a choice of words it’s a way of life.

The Best Things in Life are Free By LBW

I have to say that life is good and the best things are free of charge. We pay to go to the club, the movies, or some other outing, but when it comes down to it nothing compares to the relationships and bonds in life that money can't buy. I was sitting and thinking of all the times I spent late nights just hanging out or talking over with friends about some pressing issue and it hit me. Life is good and the moments that arise reveal that if money is all you want then your missing the ultimate joy in life.

Just think if the best things in life had a price tag. Companies like Good Life, Great Times and Friends R' Us would charge top dollar and people would spend their entire check on getting the benefits. I think of the countless times being consulted on life's problems by good people. I think of "happy birthdays" and facebook messages sent to make sure I have a great day. I think of falling asleep on shoulders or being patted on the back when i really needed it. I think of "I love you"s and back massages to sooth tension. I think of every hand shake, smile, and high five. As you can see these things carry more value than any game system, fancy car, or new outfit. The most beautiful thing about all this is that the value increases constantly and never loses value no matter what.

As I look over my life I realize that because of the things in life that didn't cost money I am where I am today. I recognize that I had a really expensive education, but the love my father had for me is what really financed it. His belief in me when no one else did is what I needed to carry on. I've been entrusted to many leadership positions(Triton College Student Association,Model Illinois Government, Relay For Life, and the Jan Donatelli for Congress Campaign), but its my friends that were there and their confidence was my drive. I don't have to tell you how this all made me feel when it hit me. I do have to tell you that I thanked God. For the best things in life are free because he made them so. Mankind can be so evil but so kind at the same time.

God stands in the balance and puts these beautiful things in our life to make us complete. There is an infinite void in our life that most of us try a life time to fill. I devoted my life to God and he filled that void in a number of years and he never ceases to amaze me. I remember spending the hardest times in my life in prayer and I always came out on top. I remember asking Jesus for strength only to find that it was already there because the Lord already put it there. I know Jesus loves us all and gave his life for our sins in order for us to receive salvation and that is the best thing in life and thank God its free!

The Rift by LBW

I see you over there looking at me with that look on your face
How could you ever sit so pretty after you did such disgrace

I loved you and you hurt me with your words and actions
Its all your fault and its your job to pick up the pieces of my broken heart

Don’t be confused by my stone cold eyes that glare at you from across the room
I’m only looking at you this way because you are looking at me that way

Tears fall from my face because I pray for the day that this ends
I want things back to what they were before we got this way

Before our words turned into daggers and our hearts turned black towards each other
Before our backs knew each other better than our faces know now

My pride wont subside and I wont give in and let this pass
You owe me this and I will wait until you do right by me

I am willing to watch our relationship rip at the seams and rip to shreads
I will take a knife and cut at each fiber if it means getting even.

I love you, but you seem to have forgot that. I’m surprised you havent checked
If I didn’t I wouldn’t be so upset. If you only knew behind the heartbeats in my chest

I would do what it took to make this right if I only knew you were with me
If I was sure you weren’t against me. I would not hesitate to fix this

The Power of Love within Family by LBW

Family is the most powerful institution in the world. The family is where life begins, wealth is, strength is, and love should always be. By definition a family is a group of people who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption. God above all else leads the family of the righteous and Jesus’ greatest commandment is to love. Love is an act and requires the right energy and intent. Love is meant to be shown at all times even when it is hard to do. When it is applied the results provide restoration in times of hardship or disagreement. So if the most powerful institution in the world looses one of its most important attribute, it is compromised. In this case if something causes a rift in the family and it is not properly addressed in love it spreads like a cancer of hate until it is unbearable by all who are connected. If there is no restoration the lack of love can cause systematic failure causing separation, sickness and other undesired outcomes. The devil loves this and loves to divide Gods people whenever the opportunity presents itself. This is to say quite frankly that this is the year that we take our families back. This is the time to put our faith into action. It is time to decrease ourselves so that God can increase in our lives. What ever the situation ask God to take control. Ask him to remove anything from our hearts that is unlike him and to live in us and through us. If God is love and he is in us we have the ability to Love the right way all the time.
